What rules do you use for your line splits when running option (mostly midline and inside veer)? right now we are planning to start at three feet but tell our covered lineman that they are allowed to stretch as far as their D-lineman will follow them. For uncovered lineman we are telling them to narrow their split to make the double team easier. Any problems with widening line splits and allowing linebacker run throughs? Any feedback appreciated.
