Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
It's a curl/flat play with a corner behind it. Outside guy has a curl, middle slot has a shoot (flat) , inside guy runs a corner. Does anybody run this and what kind of success have you had with it?
I have run the combination you speak of. I have run it out of double slot with motion to trips, trips, trips side of an open formation. I have found that when teams scheme with cover 4 and 3 the play is very effective. While in cover two the receiver need to keep appropriate spacing to stretch the field. The more precise the shoot -MUST STAY SHALLOW and curl/post the better the play works. We run speed option to trips from time to time and our sprint out looks just like it. Best of luck.
Offset I is a good call. They want to run midline and belly read from the I plus some veer so I guess we could go offset for the iso, counter sweep game to break pass tendancy. If it were me, I'd sit in the gun all day almost but it will probably be a couple of years of arm twisting etc to get them to move.
