Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have a teaching interview at 9:00 in the morning and then a coaching interview at 2:00 in the afternoon. I'm pretty excited, but not too nervous, because I am still very happy where I'm at. This is a win - win situation for me. I do not know anybody at the school that I am interviewing at, all I know is that there are 4 other coaches being interviewed and that at least one is from the current staff.
Any suggestions from anyone that will be on tonight, (June 16)?
I believe I nailed the teaching interview. It couldn't have gone much better.
The coaching interview seemed to go ok. It was harder for me to read it. I feel good about how I answered the questions, and don't have any regrets about how I did. I was a bit frustrated by the process though. I spent many hours preparing packets, etc. and they didn't have time for me to share it. There was only one question that asked about X's and O's, (What offensive and defensive systems will you run?) I put my packets etc. out near the end so that they could at least get a glimpse of my preparation. They seemed impressed.
I could know as early as next Tuesday, or as late as next Friday.
Well I just found out on Thursday that I did not get the position. The Assistant Principal called me and was very complimentary, telling me that I was one of the two finalists, and that he is sure that I will do well in the future. They went with someone that was already on staff. It was a good experience for me.
Today, (Monday), I found out that the head coach at the school that I am currently at just resigned under pressure from administration. It will be interesting to see what happens at this point.
In a strange twist of events, the head coach at my current high school where I am an assistant resigned. I have been selected to be a "Co-Head Coach" with the defensive coordinator on an interim basis for this year. I will be the offensive co-ordinator, while the other coach, (whom I work very well with!) will remain as the defensive co-ordinator. It is an unique situation which will give both of us some valuable experience. It's just too bad that it had to happen for such a bad reason. Our coach had been with the program for the past 7 years. He will remain on staff as a teacher.
I got my first head coaching job in a similar fashion. I did not get the job in January, but in July they called me up and offered me the job (strange twist of events too). It's amazing how things work out. Now your issue is the following: Who is going to be the more dominant figure? One of you will rise to the occasion, which one will it be?

Head Varsity Football Coach

Coach Easton, I couldn't agree more! I knew that He would have something in store for me, but I never envisioned this. (-:
Coach Cella: it will be interesting to see how that issue plays out. My co-coach has been with the program for 7 years, and has been the D-coordinator for several years. I have only been with this school for a year, but have been the head softball coach here for 3 seasons. We both are fairly easy going, but also high energy while coaching. We'll make it a great experience!
I'll keep you posted on how things are going, (and will likely have some questions!)
Coach, you have a great attitude! I coached with a DC for a long time, the HC spot came open and we both interviewed. It was my time and I got the job. The DC and I worked together for years after that. We are still the best of friends! Good friends are worth keeping, they are few and far between these days.
