I am looking at installing the 3-5-3 as a Air Attack Defense and don't want to give-up any strength in my run support. I would like to adjust to it or remove a DT and insert a DB or SS and run this as an adjustment to spread and Shoutgun formations. I am applying simple Cover 3 and Cover 4 but is there anything I can do in addition to these and my basic 4-3 defense? ANY HELP IS GREAT!!
here's what we're planning as our sec. pckg: cov 1-man/free; cov 2-move spurs out to jam #1's, will/sam play 2nd zone in (curl) -in other words everybody underneath widens one zone, mike offsets to sidecar or other back set and freesafety "robs" 3rd zone in underneath-he almost baits the zone- unless no. two rec(s) goes vert. cov 3-basic American coverage, can also rob v 2x1 form. cov 4-weak side spur in qtr cov w hbs and f/s; cov 6-qtr/qtr/half to boundary; cov 8-roll field hb up v trips, half cov behind w f/s and bound. hb. Sounds like alot but kids get good w reps..also, 2x2 motion to trips we practice...8 to field, 6 to boundary..trips one way or the other w motion out of trips check 2... If we wnt to play 3 deep v anything give a solid or hold call. Memory helpers: Even number= two deep; 8 is bigger than six so 8 is to the field, 6 to bound. 3/4 tell how many in deep cover...basic stuff, comments please. BD:)
