Recognizing the Influence

If you know a team runs the influence it you have to always have your 3 tech look inside if there guard pulls outside. I work this into my drills when we face influence trap. It does limit any effectiveness chasing outside, but I find we don't make those plays with the interior line anyway. We still chase if the guard pulls across the center. It takes a day of reps to get this down but is well work the payoff. If a team shows pass then pulls then it will slow down the pass rush of your 3 tech. Teams have run this to slow down our rush because if you don't look inside you will get trapped in the worst way.
