Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Help with option plays and blocking rules against a 5-3 Eagle. Zero nose, two 3-techs, two 9 techs, a stacked middl backer, and OLB's walked up within 2-3 yards of the L.O.S. over top of our tackles.
Run inside veer. The LB will be the read man, and you can combo to the ILB with the OG and OT. You can also run OV by having the TE block down on the OLB and combo the OT and OG to the ILB. For that matter, you can also run lead option with the same blocking scheme for a TD if your WR will crash the safety and your lead back kicks out the Corner
In order to have 2 9 techs you have to be in a double tight, thats why I am asking. Are you running the bone? How would you look to run the ISV for example, to the backside with a double tight formation that would bring the CB right in close to the 9 and basically another stacked situation. I don't think you want to do that. Perhaps what your calling a 9 tech and what I am calling it (outside shoulder of the TE) is something different. Email me at : coacheaston@hotmail.com and I will help you all I can. I ran the option for a lot of years, maybe together we can help you figure out what you need.

IMO, your opinion stated is good AS LONG AS THE NOSE STAYS IN A ZERO. If he shades to the playside A and the center can't handle him on his own, then the PSG is going to have to double on him with the center and slide to the second level (mike),leaving your tackle on an island without help to combo. With out a playside double team at the point of attack, it is no longer an ISV, and the TE has to kick out the 9. The days of playing with a nose in a true zero are long gone, imo. See my point?

Whenever faced with a 5-3 or 3-3 scheme slot your tight end and mage the openside load and inside veer your best option run plays. By slotting your tight end 6 yards awaay from his takle this will break the triangle and also clear the perimeter play for your QB. Coach CAmpbell
Go to a trips formation out of your spread personnell and run Inside or Outside veer week, and midline strong.
The other formation is the X over formation with one of the wide receivers ineligible. This resembles a tris formation but you have an A back to the weak side. They will have to widen out of a 5-3 or you will have angles and numbers to the strong side.
Do not give a 5-3 a balanced set because they are a balanced defense. Force them to shift, or make alignment adjustments. IT will change the LB play and make them have to commit the FS to Pitch which opens up the play action pass.
