Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach C is now offering some video/DVD sets (thanks much for the DVD, much better to work with than VHS) taken from player clinics and a Phonix coaches clinic. If you have his playbook(s) I you'll find his new material helpful. For example, the coaches clinic DVD helped me with the stretch and Isos: I never quite understood the stretch (I'd always thought that was just another term for outside) and it confused the heck out of me to see it drawn up in the UOP with a cutback. The running game clinic stuff straightened that out for me, along with an "Oh, now I get it" moment on the slow rotation for Isos.
The player clinic stuff is great too, he illustrates the drills with kids executing them. If you've ever wondered how the barrel drills work, it's here. I'd never understood the key to moving the barrels properly is that one hand grabs the top and the other hand positions under the barrels center of gravity. To move the barrels in a straight line requires a wide center of gravity with the feet, and placing the hands in an upper and lower position forces the shoulders back and the hips under to make them go any where. Very neat stuff. If that didn't make sense, the picture is worth a thousand words.
That's just a flavor for what's in there, I found 'em well worth it if you've been working off of Coach C's principles.
