Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
DEPENDING UPON HOW HE IS SLIPPING, I.E. ACCURACY, VELOCITY, ETC. COACH CAMPBELL POSTED ON HAVING HIM SLIDE THE BALL FOR ADDDED VELOCITY ON LONG SNAPS AND NOT PICKING THE BALL UP. IT SHOULD WORK THE SAME ON A GUN SNAP,IMO, AT LEAST WORTH GIVING IT A TRY. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A STICKLER FOR THE CENTERS GOING THROUGH A CENTER SNAP PROGRESSION TO WARM UP PROPERLY PRIOR TO PRACTICE OR GAME. THE PROGRESSION THAT I USE STARTS WITH OVERHEAD, THEN SIDE, THEN BETWEEN LEGS.

I think people make way too much of the shotgun snap. we do not want a sprial we want a soft toss back to the qb. we tell him to keep his wrist locked and his headup(which keeps his butt down.
one thing you might consider is having the qb moveup to 3.5 ys.
We are using a techinque we picked up this summer. The center palms the ball towards the back of the ball and sits it up on the front 1/2. He snaps the ball with his wrist locked keeping his butt down. We turn the laces at 3 o'clock. The center should not put much into the snap. If done correctly, the ball will just float back and the QB will catch the ball with laces in a good position.
