Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I run a basic pro with the "I" backs. Power, iso, counter, sweeps, traps,ISV, OSV. I throw our 50 series( 2 WR's running mirror routes mixed with 3-5 step drops by the QB and backs out protecting and TE about 95% of the time in the pattern). I also run a part of my play book entitled "Special Passes from this formation) But, I hang my hat on my spread (trips to the front side, twins to the backside, QB in empty gun at 5-6 yds.

Tackle trap Tackle ISO Stretch Inside Crazy Option Speed Option Load Option From two and one back schemes make up our offense from the gun primairly. All our gun runs are either two and triple option reads for our QB. Coach CAmpbell
Tiger, In crazy option the QB reads the EMOLS for a shovel pass or speed option. The backside RB will run the shovel pass route. If the EMOLS comes up field he will hit the shovel pass.

Thanks, figured it was something like that. I'm having luck with the speed option out of my spread, haven't tried the shovel yet. Appreciate your clearing that up for me, coach.

JC - Like Coach Mac said Crazy Option is a triple option opprtunity that involves the shovel pass along with speed option. This is a great play designed to take advantage of a 5 technique towards the openside of a formation. Coach Campbell
Thanks for your reply. I see it as a real rush beater from the backside. In my empty set, they give us a lot of the classic 6 on our 5 look, which the free runner usually comes in the form of the backside 5. I just motion the trips side #3 deep and he becomes the pitch man. If the 5 comes hard, we get it on the perimeter right now. I have done this for a long time, guess I just didn't have the knowledge of what it is being called these days. Thanks to you and coach Mac, now I do.

On these option plays from the gun do you just reach the man over you or how do you block the fronts? IF we face a 50 we will have our TE or H block down and trey with the OT, the Q will read the DE for pitch. I will run this out of twins to the open side and trips to the Tight side. The PSG and Center will Ace to BSLB and OT will take man on. We run the crazy option as well as the speed option all out of the gun!
