Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are a small school that was being successful with the I option. we lost our star tb to discipine and 2 lineman to injuries. we were 3-0 until last game where a team just blitzed the crap out of us and we had no time to throw. Our center is 135, guards 165, tackles 165 and 180 and te about 170. We are playing a 53 team that averages 280 on the dline with speed everywhere. We need to survive to get to the next winable game. Any ideas how to control the blitz? We are looking at some one back, screens etc. Draw is not a good play vs this team. We cannot roll our qb out. This team is that good and we are that small. Sounds a bit overwhelming, but that what makes it fun. Just looking for some input. Thanks
3 step drop passing game! Sprint draws and screens are the best blitz control I have ever known about, why isn't is good against these guys? Quick 3 step drop, with motion, patterns that include quick out cuts, quick slants, fake 30 dive and hit the y on an arrow QUICKLY WITH ONE STEP DROP! We just call the play 30 dive-Y pop. Y arc releases and heads up the hash, getting his head around the instant he crosses the LOS.

Maybe mix in some unbalanced, a lot of motion and shifts to hope to confuse the guys. Some shallow cross routes, and quick option passes could help. My favorite play action pass is off our power option out of the I. QB options out to the tackle-TE gap making it look like power option, then retreats away from the LOS. If we are faking Power op. to the right, our TE is on the right and crosses at about 5 yards to the BS. Our PS WR or Z in this case will cross at about 12-15 yards deep. Our X on the backside will inside release and run a skinny post. With full option flow to the right our TE is always open crossing the field to the left, you just have to protect the QB long enough 2 throw it.
