Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We use it. Football, Hockey, In/Outdoor Track, Softball, GBB, are all on board. It is really nice. You need to have a student update the info periodically as it becomes high maintenance if teams are on different lifting schedules.
BFS in season is really working we are getting stronger during the season.
Coach we use it for football as well as wrestling. A little background on what we started working with, athletes that are small, weak, and have no history of dedication or understanding of lifting, a weight room that is too small and inadequate, and administration that drags its feet on fixing the latter problem.
We easily "tweaked" our lifts for the two sports, and had the booklets for each kid. We did a class the first few days to talk about weight room safety and the proper forms on lifts. The kids really took to it, because they saw results, and the booklets let them lift according to their limitations. We have slowly fundraised to try and get better equipment, and have seen an average increase in lifting desire. The key was having it "sold" to the players to get them interested, and then the quick results hooked them. I like the ease of looking over the booklets and then having the computer breakdown of their increases. Sometimes the data entry is a little time consuming, but I feel it is well worth the time.
We have the log books from BFS, and just use those. The computer program we use mostly as a guide for the kids. Sometimes if we see that the percentage increase hasn't been what it needs to be for a couple of weeks, we'll put a little note on their card letting them know what numbers to try for. I think it just shows the kids that we are aware of what they're doing.
Another thing we also did was we had some inexpensive T-shirts made. We total their max on the four core lifts, and then have shirts for the different clubs. We started with 800, 1000, 1200, & 1350 so we could get more kids some shirts to start with.
