I'm a student coach at the University I attend. I'm just looking for some advice. I'm still learning and I've got a long way to go but I feel like I'm trying though. Lately though, my attitude has just gone downhill because of how much I constantly get ragged on by the other coaches. Part of it is that I'm not at the level they are at and part of it has to do that I have some conflict with my schooling which I won't exactly compromise.
Alot of the time I don't feel the ragging I get is justified and it just really gets me angry. Alot of days I just come home and I am just like..wow..I suck. I really like the players and the position coach I work with but my attitude towards some of the others is really turning sour. I struggle relating to alot of them because I am the youngest and the next closest in years is like 9 years older then me. I'm just looking for some suggustions. Is it me or do I have some right to be angry?

cOACH JUST HANG IN THERE I TO WAS IN THAT POSITION WHEN i FIRST STARTED OUT 33 YEARS AGO, IT KIND OF COMES WITH THE TERRITORY. ALL I CAN SAY IS JUST HANG IN THERE AND KEEP WORKING HARD AND THEN NEXT YEAR IT WILL BE SOME ONE ELSES TURN. OUT OF ALL THIS JUST REMEMBER WHEN YOU GROW OLDER IN THIS PROFESSIONAL YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HELP THOSE YOUNGER COACHES COMING INTO THE PROFESSION ON HOW TO HANDLE BEING THE YOUNGEST COACH ON THE STAFF. KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB OF WORKING HARD AND YOU WILL GAIN THERE RESPECT. COACH CAMPBELL
This coaching is like a big fraternity of brothers! It is the newest one that always has to bear the brunt of the older one's sarcasm. You are just "paying your dues" and the sooner you learn to let it slide off your back like a duck does water, the easier it will become. THE EASIEST WAY TO OVERCOME IT, JUST AS COACH CAMPBELL ADVISED, IS TO WORK YOUR WAY THROUGH IT!!! Show them that your man enough to hang tough, learn, and become a part of the greatest profession in the world. The more you let them see that it bothers you, the more they will keep it up. Laugh it off, don't look at the pile, just keep choppin'. What will put them in your corner faster than anything else is to really apply yourself and start letting them know, you know, what your doing! Hang with it, the rewards far outweigh the sacrifice.
