Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Can the midline option be run against 5-2 front with shaded nose, 5 tech, 9 tech to the strong side and a 3 tech, 5 tech to the weakside? If so how do you block it and does mid-line have to be run to the TE side?
yes but you are going to have to break the I. a wing t look will allow you to run the midline away from the te to that three teck. another way to do it is to come out in a full house backfield with a split rec. and a te, most teams will declare the te side as the strength and shift, run the midline backside all night if they do.
You can also run it to the 3 tech. out of the stack I. The second back will be the 2nd tracker of the PSLB to FS and the Tb will run his normal option course. You can still run it out of the I without breaking it, but you may want to cheat the TB's alignment up a bit. This will also help if your QB is calling best option on the LOS. Breaking the I every time you want to run it may become a big tendancy.
some people live on what they know, and some people live for what they don't
Midline is a good play to the SE side of the 50 reduction. Speed option is a great way to get your TB the ball to the weak side of that defense, as well.
Speed option to the backside will get it done verses this look! If they declare to the TE as stated by tcamp in his post above, run midline to the backside 3 until the cows come home from any of the three formations posted above.
