Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are a multiple, stunting 8-man front. We send EVERYTHING into the game. Our defensive calls consist of 4 parts: the front, the stunts, direction (strong/weak, TE/SE, wide side/shortside. left/right) and the coverage. EXAMPLE: 44, strong slam, cover 3 Certain combo stunts (str OLB and wk LB or vice versa) will have a particular name. I.E. Cougar is a strong OLB and strong LB stunt. If we a run a particular combo stunt only from one front, that particular name will always be a certain front, always be to a particular side of the offense and will always be a certain coverage. For example, STAB is a FS blitz in strong A-gap and a weak OLB stunt from our 4-4; the coverage is always man. All we have to send into the game is STAB. That call tells the kids the front, stunts, direction and coverage. We are always looking for a better way to communicate mulitple stunts without being so wordy.
