Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
The best thing I have EVER seen on this is the video "The Colorado Offense" by Bill McCartney. They are 2 TE/2 WR/1 RB - LIKE THE INDY COLTS. You can order it from "SYSKOS" by calling 1-800-932-2534. The entire video is about running the ouside zone with pullers. To the "RED" (reduced - B gap defended by a DLM) side of the defense in an "OVER" - where there is a 3 tech DT & a 6 or 9 tech DE, they block the T down on the 3 technique & fold the G around on the SAM LB (aligned on outside leg of T), while TE bases the DE.
On the "WHITE" (wide side - B gap defended by a LB) side of the "Over" defense - where there is a 2I tech DT & a 7 tech DE, they block the TE down on the 7 tech & fold the T around on the Will LB.
We run the outside zone with pullers and block the inside zone with zone combos. Have been very successful over the past 4 seasons running this offense. 4 straight years with a 1000 yard rusher in a one back offense and our QB has passed for over 2000 in 3 of the 4 years.
email me at jetsweep78@hotmail.com and I can email you our playbook pages from the inside and stretch plays.

PS: One thing I failed to mention is that Colorado (1994) pulled BOTH the playside Tackle & Guard in their 2 TE offense when running to the 2I & 7 tech side IF the B gap backer was deep enough that the Guard could pull around on him rather than reaching up thru the B gap. The Tackle pulled for the Will LB (OLB) usually just outside of the 7 technique. Need to see the film so that you can see all the blocking calls & WHEN to use them!
I believe the Colts like to run the stretch to the 2i,7 side of the defense pulling the guard and tackle, center reaches and TE blocks down right? They run the majority of their stretch plays to that side of the defense.
How do you run the outside zone with pullers against the following fronts: odd (shade, 5&9 / 0, 4, &6) and the even defense to the 3 tech side? Also if you are in a TE Trips(te and flankers to both sides) what does the inside receiver do? I was wondering this because some people have the first puller kick out the force.
You need to look at the video (1994) by Bill McCartney on the "COLORADO OFFENSE" (order it from "SYSKOS" by calling 1-800-932-2534). The whole video is on the Ouside Zone 0- mainly with pullers. They started a lot of this, because they did not feel you could always get by with full zone blocking. Will give you a GENERALIZATION (below) because I cannot take eacvh situation that might arise & do it justice. Keep in mind this is 2 TE/2 WR/1 RB Examples are vs. a "4-3 OVER" (since we are in playoffs, cannot spend more time vs other looks - suggest yo u get video if interested).
On the "RED" (reduced) side of the defense (where B Gap defended by DLM) they like to FOLD with the Tackle blocking down on the 3 tech & the Guard folding around on the Sam LB. Te bases 6 (or 9) & play USUALLY crams C gap behind folding Guard because the 6 or 9 will stretch. Everone ELSE (inside the folding Guard) blocks Outside Zone, so only TWO men deviate (ON G & ON T).
On the "WHITE" (wide) side of the defense (where B gap defended by a LB) they like to down block the 7 with the TE and fold the Tackle around on Will LB. Guard can EITHER reach thru B gap on MLB, or pull around behind the Tackle, giving you 2 pullers. Everyone ELSE blocks Outside Zone, so only 2 or 3 men deviate.
If you would like to discuss this via phone - my number = 804-740-4479. Call before 10 PM EDT.
PS: Whereas you know the play to the "RED" side will USUALLY cram the B gap, you are pretty much sure that the play to the "WHITE" side will "circle the defense" by getting outside. There are times when EACH scenario ius desireable.
You must be able vs. the 4-3 Over (which is probably the most common defense we see) to handle the A-Gap MLB (on playside) with Center (or make another call where playside Tackle steps to 3 tech & comes off on Mike with Center attempting to reach the 3 (because On G is folding). ALSO - must be able to account for secondary run force (if playside WR CAN'T - according to align of secondary) - you must back the Offside TE off the ball & motion him over to do so, OR align the offside WR over on the playside between TE & WR that side.
Cannot spend more time typing on this - if you need to call - my number is above.
PS: This is VERY MUCH what Colts are doing, & it is the brainchild of Elliott Uzlac (currently at Georgetown University in DC).
I have a training manual that I wrote entitled " SPREAD QUARTERBACK AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL" And I sell them for 25.00 each. It is 68 pages in duration and deals with all facets of being a spread QB at the HS level. It comes in a blackbound three ring notebook cover. I will trade you straight up for the video if you are interested, if not no problem. My emails are: coacheaston @hotmail.com or jerryeaston1@aol.com Thanks for your time.

Can PROBABLY get by in SOME looks (2I or shade on Center; 5 technique DE; no ILB immediately threanening B gap) pulling Guard, but do not believe you could pull tackle. Since I don't do this, perhaps someone who DOES will reply.
