Hammer Strength Jammer and Functional Strength? Thoughts

It is definitely not an essential piece of equipment, in my opinion, however it could add some variety to your total body exercises. Personally, if I had the money to spend, I would purchase other equipment that I feel IS essential before I purchased a Jammer.

In terms of functional strength, it probably will lead to better total body coordination, however remember that sport specific ability is developed by playing the game. As strength coaches, we can only hope that the strength developed in the weightroom transfers over to the field/court.

I personally wouldn't get one, however a major D-1 strength coach that I have the utmost respect for (and constantly look to for knowledge) uses the Jammer regularly (And he is NOT in Nebraska).
