Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
IV, OV, Counter Trap, Belly-G, Belly-G option, Cross-buck counter trey, and passing game.
We line up in the I formation and shift to split backs. From the i formation on quick counts we run the mid-line, power, toss, inside veer.
I have been exclusively split back, and exclusively I formation before this year. I like the combination of the two for personnell reasons. We have no problem with the mesh from both sets.
Our base offense has gone from an I-Option to a Multiple Option offense to a veer offense utilizing the I and split back formations. We plan to run the following:
I- Blast (Iso), Inside Veer Power (Kickout), Pitch
that is exactly what we are doing. I put in the counter trey form split back and even though we only ran it a couple times a game, it averaged over 20 yards for us. I like the multiple nature of the I formation and split backs. In a self-scout, we could not pick up tendencies. We always line up in the I formaiton and shift to the split backs. We made it to the state semi-finals this year with this approach.
Coach mg thanks for your reply. What state do you coach? Also, what are your playside blocking rules on veer with your center, guard, tackle, and tight end. I was just curious. Thank you.

We run Midline, IV, OV, Speed Option, Counter Tre, and Trap. Our best play out of this is what we call Belly (wing-t guys call it down). We pull the PSG to kick out the 7, 8, or 9 tech. Great play for us.
Coach Cella I have read some of your postings before and was wondering what you knew about the jet sweep series and some wing-t plays. I wrote down your email but this was from a while ago and was never able to get through.
I used to run spread option with the jet sweep series. We ran the wing-t when I was a defensive coordinator at my previous school. As a head coach, I run the veer on offense with a power game. I know the jet series very well. I can answer pretty much anything you need to know about the system. Email me at CoachCella@aol.com and we'll talk.
