Aren't they very similar to what University of Minn. uses? Do the Vikings do anything differently on their inside zone that makes it so effective?

Steve Loney is also the O-line coach for the Vikings. He was a former ISU and U of Minnesota assistant (under Glenn Mason). So they are running very similar, if not identical schemes.

Loney was also an assistant O-Line coach in Arizona (NFL) when Joe Bugel was the Head Coach there.

So the Vikings, Minnesota (NCAA) and the Redskins (as well as the Steelers) are all essentially using the same zone schemes - and very successfully.
