Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We run Pro and Twins, IV, OV, Midline, and Speed Option. Several of our opponents have run this front:
A 9 tech on our TE and slant him across the TE's face; a 4 tech who plays head up; a NG who will slant weak and strong; a 5 tech on our BST who will slant across the OT's face; a ghost 9 tech who will squeeze down when action is away; an invert/SS outside the TE; Two ILB's who scrape over the top towards backfield action side; and cover 3 FS and CB's.
Play action passes off of both veers! Utilize your TE in the patterns unless their schemes make you keep him in for pass pro. Motion a back to the TE side, throw swing routes to other to either the FB or RB(change up your motion man from FB to RB) Run power through the C gap, counter the opposite way. Run ISV to backside, also lead option. Come right back with a series or two later with a lead option look only have the FB load on the 5 tech and run the predetermined pitch to the RB ( this is run to the backside also, of course). Just a few of the things I would suggest.

Arc your tight end and run outside veer, G-belly load option, or lead option. The slanting 9 tech should be very logg-able. With outside veer this will probabaly be a pull read whick means you're off. Lead option will put the ball on the perimeter quickly. The are giving you the outside.
