Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have excerpts from my playbook that contain my favorite plays from the days I ran the run and shoot. It is a great offfense and I still use some of my choice plays and run them from a flexed double wing. Contact me at: jerryeaston1@aol.com or coacheaston@hotmail.com and I will be glad to share them with you.

coach what age group are you running? I do not think I have ever heard of any coach running the R & S at a youth level. I guess there is the chance at the 9th and 10th grade level. I love the system don't get me wrong so I guess the main question is how low a level can ti be run?
GO ON ABEBOOKS.COM & pull up this book. It is the ORIGINAL R&S playbook from the originator. Pretty steep price (THEY ARE VERY SCARCE), but worth it if you want to learn the offense (maybe "Santa" will get it for you).

Second Oneback's recommendation, plus Ellison's book is an absolute hoot to read (you gotta love the polecat). That also reminds me... The Al Black book describing Mouse Davis' approach can be found at Amazon, search on Al Black Run Shoot. Also AmericanFootballCentral.com offers a way to get ahold of the '84 Houston Gamblers, '92 U of Houston and '94 Buffalo Bills K Gun playbooks. Also check ChuckNDuck.com it's got some good graphics of Mouse Davis version vs. coverages.
I'm definitely gonna try the Slide next year, in our league no one seems to adjust to the motion man on the swing, which should leave the Corner with two guys to cover, pick either one and you're wrong.

Tiger Ellison's lonesome polecat got me a lot of yards in the R & S over the years. Mouse really was the Guru, but he and I differed in our approach in that he would throw from endzone to endzone and my approach was those passing lanes shrink to darn much to do that and score with consistency. To this day I believe that, and I run a 5 wide spread empty gun and have for a long time before it got popular like it is today. In my opinion, you better have a crunching ground game when you get down close to augment your passing attack. Jim Kelly ran the Gamblers in the old USFL and when he was young he could deal! With that built in western Pennsylvania toughness and an arm like a cannon, he was something to watch in those days! Mark Ricth (Univ. of Georgia's HC) was Jim's backup at Univ. of Miami. While attending a clinic one time at FSU when Mark was Bobby Bowden's QB coach, I asked him where he had played his college ball as I had never seen him play. His reply: Your not alone in not having seen me play, I backed up Jim Kelly at Miami! He just laughed, knowing that one statement covered it all.

obviously you could get it from a library as i did but then i realized i needed to buy it because it was too extensive and it's cool to own something vintage. not too many people selling that book nowadays.....but i am. i also have Black's book.
I have copies of Mouse's stuff and from some other succesful coahes that have adapted it to their teams I would be willing to send to you if needed.
Coach Morris-
When i first started coaching in 1989 I was stationed at Ft Polk (LA) and had the priviledge of working for a head coach at Pickering HS that was a QB under Tiger Ellison so we ran that system all the way down to 7th grade ( with mods of course for the younger kids).
