Coaches i was wondering your thoughts on trap option. I am installing a wing t , changing from an I attack so I figured I wanted to keep the trap in. I was wondering the way some of you run your trap option. Lets say its a trap left with left gaurd pulling does the qb open up right and pivot on his back foot and run option with the hb toward the right or does he run option with wing back in motion to the left? My main concern was keeping the play part of the buck series of the Wing T. The question i have for the option how do you treat the the EMLOS if the Qb back is to him for the fake to the FB does the TE block him or the QB has to be that much quicker. I was thinking of leaving him unblocked have the pulling gaurd get force player TE block down on on Mike or the onside inside in a 4-4. Then I felt I could tag the play with a call to block the DE with the TE. Or is it better to run the play with the the same look as the buck series with lg pulling left, hb sweeping right and after the fake to the FB having the wb in quick motion run option with the QB truly optioning the DE? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
