What exactly is Best Option???

Coach, best option is called at the LOS by the QB. The QB locates the outside inverts (OLB or SS) to determine what side he will take the play. Example: versus a 50 in cov 3 with an inverted SS to the TE side, The QB would take his option to the openside of the formation because of no outside invert. Inside veer to the open side could be the Qb's call on the LOS. If the SS was to the openside he would run it to the TE side. If there is 2 outside inverts look to run midline to the 2 or 3 tech, or lead option to the TE side if you can get the combo on the 7 tech versus a 31 front or a 5 and 9 tech versus a 50 front.
