Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We recently received a generous donation from a booster and will be purchasing new practice equipment including chutes, several sleds, and gauntlet. We already have a Jugs machine and plenty of bags. I was curious to find out from you all, if there is any equipment you have recently purchased that has improved your offseason and inseason training. Some of the items I am looking at include power jumpers, passing net, and power sleds. We also have access to our track programs training equipment which includes power chutes, resistance belts, and small hurdles. Please feel free to recommend anything for any position!
If you have hills, you really don't need expensive chutes for resistance. You'd be better off buying some elastic chords for overspeed training. This type of equipment is very expensive and you can substitute hills for resistance running, pulling tires for the sleds etc.... If you have gentle 10 degrees slopes you can even substitute those for the overspeed training. Most of this Hi Tech gadgetry is taking the place of what occurs naturally around us.
The first thing I would do if the money is there would be to evaluate what weight room equipment you could use or upgrade. Do I have a glute/ham raise? Or a reverse hyper? Do I have decent squat racks? Boxes for box squats and step ups? If not, I would look into purchasing at least one ghr and one reverse hyper. They will contribute to gains in speed much more than chutes or elastic cords will, in my opinion.
Thanks for the advice. I guess I should have been a little clearer regarding donation...it is not being provided in the form of $$$. The donation is going to be made buy purchasing things that we need for program. I have read about using tires and we currently use hills, etc. but it will be nice to have the option to mix things up by using new equipment. Believe me, our players will still be running hills (we have a great hill just off to one side of practice field).
If there any other suggestions on equipment, please let me know.
