I am a high school senior who has played football since the 3rd grade. I am not good enough to play in college, I have a good knowledge about offense (I helped my HC with spread offense plays) but want to coach at the college level. How do I get involved with the D-1A college that I will be attending? Also, how do people get GA's and are they worth it? Any input would be great. Thanks.
I know of people who have become trainers on the team. If you aren't a GA, you most likely won't be on staff. At least as a trainer you can be around the staff and pick things up. One other question, why do you think you aren't good enough to play in college? I'd be willing to bet you could make a non D1 school. One other thing I'd recommend is while in college volunteer in the high schools in the area. It will help in the long run. If I didn't have to work and support a family right now, I'd be doing that. Oh, one thing that I have done while I'm in school is watch a TON of film. I went to the coaches and asked if they minded and they didn't. One coach accused me of watching more film than they do . Most of the time the coaching staff is more than willing to help but just don't expect to "be on staff" or anything.

Another way to get involved is through the video tech. direction. Visit with the coach or person incharge of this area and let him know you are interested in this area. Coach CAmpbell
