Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I will be coaching a very talented spilt end next year. Tall, good hands, and good speed. I want to use the slant as a go to play, but I also want to run a slant and go. Any ideas of how best to run these routes. I have been teaching our se's to plant hard off of the 3rd step on the slant, not sure how to run the go off of it. My qb's take a 3 step drop, one big, 2 small to set their feet.
The route described that you want to run is a skinny post. As your X reaches his depth inside, he just pushes off hard and runs the go (route is also called a broken arrow) if they are in man with single safety in the MOF, run option route as he reads him. If in zone, depending upon their selection of coverages, take advantage of what they give him, work away from defender into void area of the zone and catch the ball! In his PSL, have him decide what his option route is going to be if they stay with the PSL look. Have a plan!
