Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
If anyone has a jump rope routine or other good drills to improve o-linemen quick feet, I would appreciate if you would share them. Right now, the kids are jumping rope more for conditioning and endurance and we are doing bag drills, cone drills, lateral jumps over a low hurdle, etc to build footspeed.
I work MY ENTIRE TEAM on the jump rope and the dots, not just my linemen. On the rope, we start out with a 3 minute basic jump, concentrating on good coordination and proper body alignment with everything in a row from our ankles, knees, hips, shoulders and chin level. We then take a 30 second air brake and move into the cross over phase with the rope for 2 minutes. 30 second brake and then finish with rapid movement phase (as many reps as is possible for 1 minute). We take a one minute air brake and go right to the dots! IMO, the ropes and the dots are the very best tool we have for quickening our feet!
