Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
If you've seen Coach Golla's D-line videos you know that he uses "Stimulas Response" tags to go along with each type of block that the D-linemen react to. For example: In one on one he may signal the O-linemen to execute a pull across the Center on a count. The D-linemen reacts to the movement at the start of the drill. Coach Golla then yells, "Pull"! to which the D-linemen all yell, "Trap"! This is repeated two more times.
My question is: Has anyone broken down receiver routes in such a way? I can see some possibilities but I'm looking to see if anyone has already done it and would share. I was thinking for example that if you wanted your DB to attack the upfield shoulder on an out route so that if the receiver turned upfield on a chair route the DB would drill him instead of getting burnt. The stimulus from the coach in the drill could be, "Out"! and the response would be, "Upfield shoulder!" or something similar depending on how you key it out.
